About the Role
ConnectSydney is seeking Civil Workers to join their team in Rockdale. This role is critical in delivering services under the Harbour Zone contract, which involves routine maintenance, enhancements, and specialised projects for Sydney's transport infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of maintenance to the Road Network.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Conduct minor repairs involving concreting, paving, earthworks, and asphalting.
- Perform pavement crack sealing.
- Install and repair signs.
- Maintain drainage systems.
- Conduct vegetation and grass cutting.
- Perform graffiti removal.
- Carry out general waste cleaning and litter removal.
- Provide general labouring and assist specialist trades.
- Perform traffic control (if applicable tickets are held).
- Operate light rigid plant equipment safely and efficiently (if applicable licences are held).
- Attend to traffic incidents and support clean up and rectification works on damaged assets.
- Support traffic commanders and emergency services.
- Accurately complete and submit appropriate safety paperwork (SWMS etc.).
- Participate in the On Call Roster for emergency and after-hours call outs.
- Direct small road maintenance crews and ensure compliance and completion of safety paperwork (Team Leader only).
- Ensure all safety processes and procedures are adhered to.
Requirements
- Experience working in road/civil maintenance.
- Experience in emergency and incident response.
- General Construction Induction Card (essential).
- MR or HR Truck licence (essential).
- Current driver’s license (essential).
- Experience in the safe operation of plant equipment (desirable).
- Traffic Control Ticket(s) (TCR, IMP and/or PWZ) (desirable).
- Operating ticket(s) (Tracker, Excavator, Grader, Backhoe, skid steer etc.) (desirable).
- Working in confined spaces (desirable).
- Working at Heights (desirable).
- EWPA Yellow Card (Australia).
