About the Role
Shape the future of Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud by joining a team of talented software engineers focused on pushing the boundaries of speed and scale. This role involves reinventing how work is done by leveraging AI as a high-trust collaborator to solve problems and accelerate impact.
Responsibilities
- Solve real business needs at large scale by applying software engineering and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Design, develop, and support a highly-parallel and fault-tolerant database system, including a decentralized caching system of terabytes of metadata.
- Design and implement core infrastructure features such as APIs, DDL transactions, and logs, as well as advanced features like cloning, time travel, and snapshots.
- Analyze and understand performance and scalability bottlenecks within the system and implement solutions.
- Ensure operational readiness of services and meet customer commitments for availability and performance.
Requirements
- 2+ years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Systems programming skills, including concurrency, consistency, and caching.
- Broad experience identifying and implementing creative solutions to real customer problems.
- BS in Computer Science; Masters or PhD preferred.
