About the Role

THE ICONIC is seeking an Established Category Buyer for their Own Brand team on a 6-month maximum term contract. This role focuses on elevating Own Brand womenswear categories by leveraging trend analysis, commercial acumen, and strategic planning to drive category growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly trade analysis of sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to optimize Net Margin Value (NMV), profitability, and stock cover.
  • Develop strategic trade plans aligned with seasonal and long-term objectives, including quarterly SWOT analysis.
  • Plan and build balanced ranges, including assortment selection, option planning, and demand forecasting in partnership with Planning.
  • Collaborate with Design to align product ranges with market trends, customer preferences, and commercial opportunities.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms and costs, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Partner with Marketing and Creative teams to align product assortment with brand messaging and promotional plans.
  • Maintain brand, customer persona, and market insights to support product and trading decisions.
  • Lead and develop direct reports through coaching and performance management.
  • Partner with Senior Buyers, Planners, and the Buying Manager to shape category strategy, budget, and OTB management.
  • Manage critical path timelines and support seasonal Go-To-Market planning.
