About the Role
P&D Appliance is seeking a Commercial Cooking & Refrigeration Service Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment in the Bay Area. This role requires in-depth knowledge of kitchen equipment, including HVAC, steam, hot side, and cold side appliances, as well as performing regular maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Use a variety of tools to troubleshoot and repair gas, electric, water, refrigeration, and steam powered commercial kitchen equipment.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of various tools, common and uncommon commercial kitchen and HVAC parts, and application of principles of electricity such as Ohms law and Watts law.
- Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues regarding required repairs and status.
- Navigate various service software and communications channels to provide quality service.
- Maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair a large inventory of electric and gas commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.
Requirements
- Must have 1-2 years of experience in repairing commercial gas, electrical, steam, and/or refrigeration equipment.
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills.
- Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent customer communication skills.
- Ability to work hard, be punctual, and stay organized.
- Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
- Valid Driver's license and driving record that aligns with safety standards.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
