About the Role
Join Western Union as a Counsel in Business Legal Affairs to support strategic initiatives and business operations across the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. You will navigate commercial and corporate law for a NYSE-listed organization, providing legal support for BAU operations and new initiatives while partnering with business leaders.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day legal operations for specific countries or territories
- Act as legal lead on distinct projects
- Manage legal interactions with third parties and regulators
- Provide legal support to regional stakeholders and functions
- Review, draft, and negotiate agreements for Consumer Money Transfer, Payments, and Digital services
- Partner with business leaders to execute strategic company priorities
- Advise on new and existing business requirements
Requirements
- 6+ years of financial services experience in an international law firm or multinational corporate legal department
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited school of law
- Admitted to at least one state bar in Australia or equivalent for a key APAC or Middle East country
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive regional team
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills
