About the Role
The Assistant Campus Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational requirements of one of the College’s campuses in line with the Regent College London (RCL) objectives to ensure an exceptional student and staff experience is met. This involves proactive management and communication with all stakeholders. The role supports the Campus Operations Manager and works collaboratively with all teams within the RCL verticals to ensure effective delivery of on-campus activity.
Responsibilities
- Be an active presence at a specific RCL campus to support front-facing staff in day-to-day operations.
- Oversee and supervise Campus Liaison Officers (CLOs) and manage their day-to-day performance, standards, and conduct.
- Report CLO absence, punctuality, and shift cover to the Campus Operations Manager and ensure clear handovers.
- Manage and produce the CLO rota for the campus weekly, ensuring adequate cover for peak periods, events, and campus opening hours.
- Ensure cleaners maintain required cleanliness standards and escalate issues promptly.
- Carry out campus-related activities such as fire drills, H&S checks, accident/incident reporting, printing registers, initiating purchase orders, stock checks, maintenance, and classroom setup.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly checks are carried out, recorded accurately, and sent to the Health & Safety team.
- Maintain a local actions log of operational issues, incidents, and outstanding works, and follow through to closure.
- Act as a single point of contact to coordinate with the Facilities Team for works and contractor visits.
- Coordinate IT-related issues and track them through to resolution.
- Oversee campus opening and closing, including daily inspections and proactive issue resolution.
- Introduce staff to campus First Aiders and Fire Marshalls, ensuring information is current and visible.
- Play an active role in student engagement activities and events, ensuring readiness of rooms, signage, and setup.
- Assist CLOs in informing students and staff about classrooms and changes, ensuring classrooms are fit for purpose.
- Oversee administration and teaching delivery at the campus in partnership with other services.
- Collaborate with other Assistant Campus Managers, the Campus Operations Manager, and the Facilities team for compliance with legislation, including Health and Safety.
- Maintain professional standards and represent Regent as a brand, understanding and promoting the College’s strategy and policy.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and procedures at RCL campuses and implement agreed improvements.
- Deputise for the Campus Operations Manager and Chief Operating Officer on specific issues as appropriate.
- Provide flexibility to cover other campuses as and when required.
- Ensure the upkeep of the campus.
Requirements
- Broad based experience of operational management in a complex organisation.
- Experience delivering a high level of customer service.
- Basic Health and Safety knowledge.
- Ability to deal effectively and sensitively with a range of people over practical issues.
- Excellent IT skills with experience of MS package.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Experience within a Further Education or Higher Education setting (Desirable).
- Demonstrable experience of improving customer service levels (Desirable).
- Line management of staff at a range of sites/remote line management experience (Desirable).
- Successful applicants will be required to complete pre-employment checks, including a criminal records check, two references, ID and Right to Work verification, and education confirmation.
