About the Role

The Designer, Paper creates unique, original, and engaging graphics and art for Indigo private label paper products and packaging. This role collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure strong and consistent brand communication, inspiring and engaging customers. The designer will support sourcing for successful creative concept rollouts and proprietary product delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design and creation of impactful graphics and artwork for paper proprietary product category, as well as packaging
  • Present designs to cross functional teams and executive leaders
  • Works closely with design leaders, internal merchant teams, artists and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of production artwork from design concept through to launch
  • Development of original creative concepts that meet project objectives and support creative and visual guidelines
  • Responsible for graphics and artwork from inception to final product, resizing and reformatting images based on needs for paper and packaging collections
  • Adapt work to changing needs and support production, as required
  • Keep up-to-date and informed of emerging trends
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them
  • Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily
  • Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from those more knowledgeable

Requirements

  • A portfolio is required for this role. Please include a link to your portfolio or attach it with your resume.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an agency or in-house creative shop
  • Previous experience in packaging, production design and designing for retail considered an asset
  • Branding and package design experience an asset
