About the Role

CBI Home Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to support people at home and in the community. This role is part of building a talent pool for future openings, ensuring the right care is delivered at the right time to help people live safely, independently, and with dignity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare clients for treatment and progress clients through treatment programs.
  • Assist with and/or teach client therapy programs and training activities of daily living, including the use of assistive equipment and balance training.
  • Assist in the use of therapeutic equipment including set up, take down, and cleaning/disinfecting.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Apply modalities, including but not limited to heat, ice, ultrasound, IFC, EMS, TENS, and Low Intensity.
  • Responsible for writing clear, professional, objective, and accurate documentation in client communication records.

Requirements

  • Possess a post-secondary diploma as an Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA).
  • Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
  • General knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment.
  • Focus on embracing and supporting person and family-centered care.
  • Passionate, empathetic, use good judgment and apply critical thinking when making decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently.
  • Value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance.
