About the Role
CBI Home Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to support people at home and in the community. This role is part of building a talent pool for future openings, ensuring the right care is delivered at the right time to help people live safely, independently, and with dignity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare clients for treatment and progress clients through treatment programs.
- Assist with and/or teach client therapy programs and training activities of daily living, including the use of assistive equipment and balance training.
- Assist in the use of therapeutic equipment including set up, take down, and cleaning/disinfecting.
- Ensure equipment is in good working order.
- Apply modalities, including but not limited to heat, ice, ultrasound, IFC, EMS, TENS, and Low Intensity.
- Responsible for writing clear, professional, objective, and accurate documentation in client communication records.
Requirements
- Possess a post-secondary diploma as an Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA).
- Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
- General knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment.
- Focus on embracing and supporting person and family-centered care.
- Passionate, empathetic, use good judgment and apply critical thinking when making decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently.
- Value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance.
