About the Role
We are seeking a talented Designer to create thoughtful, functional, and inspiring workplace environments. You will collaborate with Workplace Consultants, Project Managers, and clients to bring workplace visions to life from initial discovery through final installation and project closeout.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Workplace Consultants to review project scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Conduct client interviews and discovery sessions to gather programming information.
- Verify field dimensions and ensure project information accuracy.
- Collaborate with Sales and Project Management to establish project timelines.
- Translate client needs into workplace design solutions.
- Create typicals, specifications, budgets, and design solutions for bid opportunities.
- Participate in product evaluations, presentations, and bid responses.
- Provide value-engineering options to maximize client investment.
- Manage outsourced design resources and serve as the primary point of contact.
- Develop final floor plans, furniture layouts, finish selections, and specifications using CET.
- Present design solutions to clients and incorporate feedback.
- Ensure accuracy of service fees, discounts, and pricing structures.
- Prepare and upload proposals, drawings, and documentation into EM1.
- Perform detailed specification reviews and quality checks.
- Coordinate peer reviews to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare installation packets for Operations and Project Management.
- Participate in pre-installation meetings and site walk-throughs.
- Update as-built drawings and assist in project closeout activities.
- Adhere to company design standards, policies, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate timesheets and expense reporting.
- Participate in company meetings and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working for a commercial furniture dealership.
- Demonstrated experience supporting workplace design projects from concept through installation.
- Strong understanding of commercial furniture systems, specifications, and dealership processes.
