About the Role
HSB Canada's Underwriter Associate Graduate Program is a flagship initiative designed to launch recent graduates into the specialty insurance sector. The program offers intensive training, mentorship, and a focus on Equipment Breakdown and Cyber insurance, preparing participants for a full-time Underwriter role.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a 6-month intensive training program blending classroom learning and hands-on experience.
- Develop expertise in Equipment Breakdown and Cyber insurance.
- Build relationships with senior leaders, peers, and mentors.
- Transition into a full-time Underwriter role upon successful program completion.
Requirements
- Recent or upcoming graduates (Class of 2025/2026) from Canadian universities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills.
- Passion for innovation, technology, and the insurance industry.
- Prior internship or co-op experience in insurance/underwriting is a plus.
- Progress toward CIP designation is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with SharePoint, SQL, Gen AI is a bonus.
- Leadership qualities: curiosity, integrity, drive, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Requirement to work a minimum of 3 in-office days per week.
