About the Role

An Architectural Designer II/Architect II is responsible for technical design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, and development of design solutions. This role provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large and complex projects, independently applying advanced architectural concepts and carrying out assignments requiring new or improved techniques. Exposure to all phases of the design process is required, with potential to provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project design and development from concept through documentation.
  • Assist in preparing client design presentations, including concept images, 3D views, rendered elevations, and material selections.
  • Assemble presentation decks based on meeting agendas.
  • Prepare design presentation documents, renderings, and materials.
  • Understand project scope, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Implement design direction based on leadership feedback.
  • Help identify agenda items for team meetings.
  • Distribute meeting invites.
  • Draft meeting minutes for PA/PM review.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced colleagues as needed.
  • Coordinate activities with all consultants.
  • Manage BIM coordination for consultants.
  • Serve as secondary point of contact for RFIs, submittments, and project correspondence.
  • Support production of Design Development and Construction Document sets.
  • Attend client meetings with PM/PA and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Organize and track project correspondence and communications.
  • Prepare drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Incorporate changes and updates into project documentation.
  • Develop new or identify existing details for project utilization.
  • Assist in development of project-specific construction details.
  • Review consultant sets and coordinate prior to phase releases.
  • Comply with MA Presentation Standards and Project Checklists.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of building codes and accessibility requirements.
  • Implement BIM execution and coordination as directed.
  • Maintain server file organization and archive project emails.
  • Self-check work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist project team with CA activities as directed.
  • Aid in the review and approval of shop drawings.
  • Attend site meetings as directed.
  • Participate in regular/weekly progress review with PM.
  • Assist with Field Reports and Punch Lists.
  • Review RFIs and Submittals as directed.
  • Maintain RFI and Submittal Logs.
  • Prepare record documents at project closeout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Portfolios must be submitted for all design positions.
