About the Role
Introba is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join their growing Toronto team. This role offers a balance of learning new skills and driving design projects in partnership with peers. The designer will assist Senior Designers & Project Leads in client relationship development, attending progress meetings, and building stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Perform AutoCAD and/or Revit drafting and design operations.
- Provide technical assistance to Senior Designers/Project Managers/Team Leaders.
- Maintain design files.
- Set up heating and cooling load calculation files.
- Perform HVAC, Fire Protection, and Plumbing layout and drafting with minimal supervision.
- Ensure Introba design checklist is followed.
- Ensure Introba AutoCAD and/or Revit Standards are followed.
- Maintain AutoCAD and/or Revit files.
- Prepare preliminary motor lists with assistance.
- Prepare equipment selections using Introba selection procedures with assistance.
- Review and process shop drawings with senior staff.
- Assist in training junior staff and reviewing their work.
- Write various reports as directed by senior staff.
- Attend site surveys with senior staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years AutoCAD experience (academic & professional).
- Minimum 2 years design experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for different building types.
- Ability to read Architectural and Structural drawings with minimal supervision.
- Ability to apply prescriptive requirements of plumbing building and sprinkler codes with minimal supervision.
