About the Role
The Front Desk Agent serves as the first point of contact for guests and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest inquiries. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a welcoming and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
- Check guests in and out efficiently while following company procedures.
- Manage room reservations, cancellations, and modifications.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries promptly.
- Process payments and maintain accurate billing records.
- Provide information about hotel services, amenities, local attractions, and transportation options.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate guest records and update reservation systems.
- Follow security, safety, and confidentiality procedures.
- Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service, hospitality, or front desk experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with reservation or property management systems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Opera PMS experience strongly preferred.
- IHG experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience working in a full-service hotel environment.
- Knowledge of banquet operations, event planning, and group billing procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of luggage or office supplies (up to 25 pounds).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
