About the Role
We are seeking a Corporate Paralegal for a 12-month fixed-term contract in our London office to support our growing Asset Management department.
Responsibilities
- Process amendments to fund agreements/contracts.
- Draft fund-related documents under supervision.
- Review subscription agreements for fund investments.
- Prepare closing bibles.
- Assist with the calculation of investment amounts in Excel.
- Liaise with Attorneys and Paralegals in the New York Asset Management Group.
- Liaise with foreign counsel.
- Liaise directly with clients.
- Manage the daily flow of files and documents from clients.
- Proofread documents.
- Request and review searches for legal opinions.
- Respond quickly and accurately to client requests.
- Research law sources.
- Conduct company and market research.
Requirements
- Previous corporate experience within a City law firm is preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime at short notice and on weekends.
- Ability to work well without close supervision.
- Ability to work well with others and assist co-workers.
- Willingness to tackle administrative tasks as well as more complex legal work.
- Ability to identify problems, gather information, develop and assess alternative courses of action, and propose solutions to supervising Attorneys.
- Ability to use initiative and know when to ask for guidance.
- Remains calm under pressure.
- Professional in both appearance and conduct.
Skills
- Strong IT skills in Word, Excel, PDF-handling software, and email.
- Proficiency in using online resources.
- Willingness to learn unfamiliar software applications.
- Enthusiasm for tackling new and unfamiliar tasks or areas of law.
- Strong mathematical skills due to regular work with numbers in Excel.
- High level of attention to detail.

Education Level
- Three A-levels at grades “AAB” or above, or equivalent.
- University degree at grade 2:1 or above, or equivalent.
- Graduate Diploma in Law (or other relevant English law qualification/experience), if original degree is not in a legal discipline.
