About the Role
Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School, encompassing daily operations including safety, staffing, pool operations, swim lesson quality, customer service, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Directs and controls daily operations to ensure the school runs according to GSS standard operating procedures.
- Assists the General Manager and department managers with daily tasks.
- Manages staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
- Oversees employee engagement to maintain high employee satisfaction and company culture.
- Oversees training and development of the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction.
- Interacts with wet side staff on operational items including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience.
- Maintains and troubleshoots pool chemistry and pump room operation.
- Gains knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
- Completes evaluations on all teachers and assesses trainees before independent teaching.
- Directs, trains, maintains, and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures.
- Interacts with team members on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service, and employee performance and training.
- Provides sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff and works with the Marketing Manager on customer service and sales performance.
- Provides direction in retail and vending departments to ensure proper product mix and pricing, and assists GM with purchasing.
- Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure GSS standard operating procedures are maintained.
- Works with GM and Marketing Manager to manage social media, book water safety presentations and events, and build partnerships.
- Oversees monitoring of email, voice messages, and social media for timely responses.
- Gains knowledge and experience in all technology platforms for bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions.
- Gains knowledge of GSS pool operations to train front desk staff on selling the program and responding to customer concerns.
- Initiates and oversees workplace culture and employee interaction.
- Trains all current staff on the GSS Emergency Action Plan.
- Maintains current certifications and stays professionally up-to-date in the aquatics and management field.
Requirements
- Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
- Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.
- Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications required.
- Both certifications must stay up-to-date and current.
