About the Role

Moonfare delivers sought-after funds and investments in private markets. This role is central to delivering a seamless, frictionless, and compliant investor journey from onboarding to distribution payments, acting as the first line of defense for investor lifecycle operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact and oversight lead for external KYC/AML service providers, holding them accountable for quality and speed.
  • Ensure all onboarding meets both Luxembourgish fund standards (CSSF) and German regulatory standards (BaFin/GwG).
  • Solve for complex investor structures by identifying creative yet compliant document solutions.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks in the onboarding workflow and partner with Product teams to implement automated solutions.
  • Oversee MiFID II appropriateness testing and professionalisation checks.
  • Resolve intricate investor queries regarding legal entities and high-net-worth onboarding.
  • Support the technical execution of distributions and the reconciliation of investor-level capital calls with 100% financial precision.
  • Partner with Product and Tech teams to automate document collection and streamline payment workflows.
  • Maintain a rigorous, investor-level audit trail that meets internal SOPs and external regulatory scrutiny.
  • Monitor account activity to proactively flag and escalate suspicious activities or high-risk cases.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of full-time experience in an AML/KYC or operations role within financial services or fintech.
  • Understanding of AML/KYC frameworks (e.g., FATF, EU AML Directives).
  • Ability to translate abstract German (GwG) and Luxembourgish (CSSF) requirements into clear, actionable instructions.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and suggest alternative verification methods.
  • Critical and outside-the-box thinking, understanding the intent behind regulations.
  • Collaborative approach, acting as a partner to Growth and Product teams.
  • Comfortable working with structured data and passionate about using tools and AI to improve manual processes.
  • Familiarity with private equity or fund operations structures is a plus.
  • Experience with reconciliation workflows or payments monitoring tools is a plus.
  • Experience working with fund administrators, custodian banks, or in a multi-jurisdictional compliance environment is a plus.
  • Eligible to live and work in Berlin.
