About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and organized Household Manager & Family Assistant to support our busy family of four with two young children and a dog. This role is crucial for maintaining a calm, organized, and welcoming home environment, allowing the family to thrive. You will be an extension of the adults, ensuring the household runs smoothly and anticipating future needs.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and drop off children from school and activities.
  • Supervise children during activities and playdates.
  • Prepare diaper bags, backpacks, clothing, snacks, and activity bags.
  • Run errands related to children's needs.
  • Provide date night and overnight childcare as needed.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily bedroom resets.
  • Prepare the home for bi-weekly cleaners.
  • Perform light tidying of bedrooms, bathrooms, dishes, and surfaces.
  • Vacuum high-traffic areas.
  • Manage seasonal clothing and decor swaps.
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparations.
  • Prepare 2-4 dinners per week for the family, including meal prep.
  • Prepare school lunches and healthy after-school snacks daily.
  • Grocery shop to support meal planning.
  • Follow dietary needs, preferences, and food allergies (salmon).
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including trash removal.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage household shopping lists.
  • Run errands such as dry cleaning and travel item pick-ups.
  • Wash, fold, and put away all family laundry according to organizational systems.
  • Maintain bedroom and bathroom linens and make beds daily.
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and stocked.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of appliances and areas.
  • Refresh daily drop zone areas.
  • Complete organizational projects for closets, dressers, playrooms, and cabinets.
  • Clean dog bowls daily and ensure consistent food and water supply.
  • Take the dog outside for brief outings as needed.
  • Maintain dog food inventory.
  • Be present to let in cleaners, contractors, or landscapers.
  • Maintain awareness of individuals entering and leaving the property.
  • Maintain outdoor spaces, including grill cleaning and propane tank management.
  • Perform seasonal property maintenance.
  • Maintain awareness of the family calendar and household schedules.
  • Take the car for occasional car washes.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Possess reliable personal transportation and a clean driving record.
  • Be comfortable driving children in the family SUV in all weather conditions.
  • Be up to date on all vaccinations, including COVID and flu.
  • Be CPR and First Aid certified.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • A background check is required.
