About the Role

You will work across the existing portfolio of schemes business, ensuring market-leading service across your scheme panel. You will collaborate with the wider Schemes Team to drive improvement and profitable growth of our schemes portfolio, playing an integral part in realizing our ambitions of growing the book in line with strategic objectives. This role involves dealing with schemes business, including underwriting and servicing brokers, and shaping our wider underwriting strategy and growth.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional service to brokers, handling referrals and writing complex business.
Be responsible and accountable for the profitable growth of schemes in conjunction with the Sector lead and schemes underwriting team.
Challenge convention and suggest/execute effective growth and portfolio underwriting strategies for sustained profitable growth.
Stay informed of new risks and exposures within chosen sectors to maintain Hiscox's market-leading position.
Collaborate with the Sector lead on shaping and driving the underlying underwriting strategy and portfolio of business.
Take underwriting ownership, manage relationships, and demonstrate accountability for key strategic broker partners.
Operate within the Media, Entertainment, Property Owners, and Sport Sectors, with a focus on Media and Entertainment.

Requirements

Experience in the schemes / delegated authority space, or strong experience within an open market underwriting environment.
Proven commercial underwriting experience (ideally within property, liability, or combined business).
Ability to make confident decisions in complex underwriting scenarios, including cases outside of authority.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with brokers and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Confident influencing and negotiation skills.
Interest in developing expertise within a specialist sector.
Open to new ideas, innovation, and considered risk-taking.

Skills

Media sector experience or broader media & entertainment space experience is strongly preferred.
ACII qualification or progression towards ACII.
