Responsibilities

  • Investigate mechanical systems failures and incidents, and review the design, operation and maintenance of the mechanical systems to identify system requirements
  • Conduct field inspections, loss analysis, testing, and data collection
  • Determine the scope of damage (water, physical, electrical, smoke, etc.) to the components and advise on repairability of damaged equipment
  • Analyze invoices, purchase orders, budgets, schedules submitted in relation to damaged equipment
  • Prepare written technical reports detailing project scopes, findings obtained from damage assessment and estimates, causation/failure analysis, and test results
  • Manage multiple project assignments and execute them on time and within budget

Requirements

  • Graduated and completed studies from a reputable mechanical engineering program
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience (internships included)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong mechanical aptitude to interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in clear language
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Proficiency in using the full suite of Microsoft Office products and strong presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to travel to sites when necessary
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites and conduct field investigations
  • Must be able to work at heights to periodically access and work on roofs, scaffolds, lifts, and other elevated surfaces
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, both indoors and outdoors and work in enclosed spaces (attics, crawlspaces, etc.) with appropriate personal protection
  • Must be able to lift, transport, set up, and utilize an extension ladder to access roofs and other elevated surfaces
  • Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time
