About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in Transmission Distribution & Battery Storage (TDS), high voltage transformer stations, protection and control including intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). This role involves working on cutting-edge projects incorporating the latest industry standards and technologies, including battery energy storage and T&D planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Transmission and Distribution systems including grid battery storage, focusing on substations and protection and control strategies.
• Oversee the integration of intelligent electronic devices and ensure compliance with the latest industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and manage battery energy storage solutions to enhance grid reliability and performance.
• Provide expert consultation on T&D planning to optimize current and future power infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client needs and project specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and compliance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 20-25 years of experience in electrical engineering but prefer 15+ years of experience with a focus on Transmission &Distribution systems.
• Proven experience with substations, protection and control systems, BESS, and IEDs.
• Familiarity with the latest industry standards and practices, including energy storage technologies, as well as Canadian provinces regulations.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead complex engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
