About the Role
The Shop Foreman is responsible for maximizing billable hours, maintaining quality control on repairs, and providing effective communication between technicians, advisors, and customers. This role supervises an assigned team of Service Technicians, including instructing, training, planning, scheduling, assigning, checking, approving work, evaluating performance, and recommending disciplinary actions.
Responsibilities
- Review dispatch schedule regularly to ensure Service Technicians are producing billable work and adjust workflow accordingly.
- Monitor and act on daily production reports.
- Support Service Advisors to enable them to focus on selling and processing repair orders.
- Assist in reviewing repair orders for proper flat rate and ensure all complaints, cause, and corrections are clear and complete.
- Confirm proper pictures are taken for all warranty repairs.
- Anticipate, create, and oversee vehicle moves for Lot Attendants.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate Service Technicians.
- Use core values as operational compass.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate staffing levels and support training needs.
- Perform workmanship and cleanliness inspections with a customer satisfaction mindset on repairs, both during and after work is completed.
- Act as the liaison between the Service Advisor and the assigned Service Technician.
- Contact customers when additional information may be needed on repairs.
- Establish and enforce shop safety and cleanliness.
- Ensure shop vehicles and equipment are maintained.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 3 years proven shop foreman/dispatcher experience
- Recreational vehicle experience and strong vehicle product knowledge preferred
- Excellent computer and data entry skills
- Ability to read technical diagrams or blueprints
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Ability to work in a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in following verbal and written guidelines to perform job functions
