About the Role
This role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice and support on a wide range of lending transactions. You will act for lenders, borrowers, and institutional clients on general lending matters, including syndicated and bilateral loan arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on general lending transactions, including secured lending, asset-based lending, bilateral loans, and syndicated loan arrangements acting for both lenders and borrowers.
- Draft, negotiate, and review loan documentation, including loan agreements, facility agreements, security documentation, intercreditor agreements, and ancillary financing documents.
- Support clients on complex financial transactions and debt finance matters, ensuring documentation aligns with commercial and regulatory requirements.
- Manage domestic and cross-border lending transactions, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counsel where required.
- Liaise with key stakeholders within the business to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer eligible to practice in the UK with the right to work in the UK.
- Private practice experience within a Banking & Finance team, with a focus on general lending and loan documentation.
- Demonstrated experience advising on facility agreements, secured lending, bilateral and syndicated loans, intercreditor agreements, and security documentation.
- Experience gained at leading law firms; in-house or secondment experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships while delivering pragmatic legal solutions.
