About the Role

This role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice on data protection and privacy compliance, leading key privacy deliverables, and supporting the design and implementation of privacy frameworks for Axiom clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and related frameworks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements with data protection and data-sharing provisions (e.g. DPAs, intra-group agreements, vendor contracts).
  • Lead on key privacy deliverables, including DPIAs, LIAs, data mapping, DSAR responses, and development of internal privacy policies and procedures.
  • Support the design and implementation of privacy frameworks, data governance programmes, and compliance processes across client organisations, working closely with legal, compliance, and business teams.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer in the UK (or equivalent jurisdiction) or experienced privacy professional, with demonstrable experience in data protection, privacy, or information law, typically gained over several years in practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of core data protection regimes (GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy), with awareness of broader regulatory developments where relevant.
  • Experience gained in private practice or in-house environments, supporting commercial and data-driven organisations.
  • Solid understanding of data lifecycle, data governance, and risk management, with the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic, and commercially aligned advice.
