About the Role

Provides clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations in assigned medical practices. Prepares patients and examination areas for appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patients from the waiting room to the clinical area, ensuring proper identification.
  • Performs clinical intake activities and documents patient information.
  • Transcribes and updates patient information, including demographic, medication history, social, and medical history.
  • Provides clerical and secretarial support, preparing patient charts and assisting with paperwork.
  • Performs and stays current with EMR Orders Reconciliation.
  • Ensures examination areas are clean, stocked, and performs environmental rounds.
  • Prepares patients for visits, ensuring necessary materials are available for the provider.
  • Conducts in-office testing and coordinates ancillary services.
  • Collects, prepares, and processes specimens, logging results and reconciling them in patient records.
  • Contacts patients for follow-up, test results, or clinician instructions.
  • Maintains inventory and ensures proper upkeep of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates and documents electronic messages effectively.
  • Assists in training new staff.
  • Demonstrates and maintains practice-based competencies for clinical procedures.
  • Fulfills compliance responsibilities.
  • Maintains and models organizational values.
  • Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required within the scope of practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 1-year Medical Assistant experience, or new graduate of Medical Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, or 3 years job-related experience in a medical office.
  • Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
  • Data entry required.
  • Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.
  • BLS Certification is required within 30 days.
  • Ability to travel between practices as needed.
