About the Role

This high-profile role shapes the evolution of finance and actuarial practices within the Lloyd’s market. It acts as a bridge between market participants and the Corporation of Lloyd’s, leading initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency of these functions. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence the interpretation and implementation of the Lloyd’s 2026 strategy concerning capital efficiency and financial performance, delivering tangible benefits to the market. It provides broad market visibility, direct engagement with senior stakeholders, and access to market-wide financial and actuarial insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape high-impact LMA committees and working groups, driving change with senior finance and actuarial leaders.
  • Build and leverage a strong network across the Lloyd’s market, developing trusted relationships with finance and actuarial leaders.
  • Own and deliver high-impact market initiatives, shaping market operations and influencing reporting, capital, and financial performance.
  • Generate market-leading financial insight, providing a cross-market perspective on performance, trends, and emerging issues.
  • Support and strengthen the LMA’s financial management, partnering with the Finance & Risk Director.
  • Champion a high-performing, inclusive team culture, fostering collaboration, open communication, and shared ownership.

Requirements

  • Finance qualification essential (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Project management qualification preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of insurance financial management and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of actuarial practices across reserving, pricing and capital setting.
  • Understanding of capital provision mechanisms within the Lloyd’s market.
  • Awareness of key market initiatives and recent developments across the LMA and Lloyd’s.
  • Advanced data analysis, interpretation and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience working within or advising London market insurance organisations, either in-house or gained through audit practices or consultancy environments.
  • Communicates complex technical and operational topics clearly and confidently to senior market audiences.
  • Builds trust and credibility with senior finance and actuarial stakeholders and uses influence to align differing perspectives.
  • Analyses complex and often ambiguous issues, using data and market insight to develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
  • Brings out the best in others by providing clear direction, support and development opportunities.
  • Actively seeks to deepen understanding beyond immediate responsibilities, remaining open to new ideas and adapting approach.
  • Takes ownership of outcomes, demonstrating genuine interest and engagement in the role and its objectives.
