About the Role

Nscale is seeking a Manager, Executive Compensation to build and scale executive compensation and equity programs during a period of rapid growth and transition to a public company. This role is part of the People team, reporting to the Director of Equity & Executive Compensation, and will collaborate with various departments and external consultants to ensure executive and equity compensation strategies are market-informed, operationally sound, and aligned with governance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and ongoing management of executive compensation programs, including base salary, short-term incentives, and long-term incentive structures for senior leadership.
  • Own the executive and equity compensation benchmarking process using Radford and peer group analysis, translating market data into defensible pay recommendations.
  • Build and maintain compensation tally sheets, performance-to-pay models, and total reward analyses for the executive population.
  • Support the preparation of materials for the Compensation Committee.
  • Partner with external compensation consultants and outside counsel to ensure program design aligns with market best practices, governance standards, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support the preparation of annual executive compensation reporting, disclosures, and governance statements.
  • Contribute to the Directors Remuneration Report and related frameworks in compliance with UK and international corporate governance expectations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of global compensation disclosure trends and governance guidelines.
  • Support the strategic design and iteration of Nscale's global equity programs.
  • Lead the development of equity grant guidelines, eligibility frameworks, and vesting structures for the broad-based employee population.
  • Own the annual equity refresh cycle, including budget modeling, grant recommendations, and equity target-setting.
  • Partner with the broader Compensation team on equity design for the broad-based population, ensuring alignment and consistency between executive and employee programs.
  • Work with equity administration on program implementation, ensuring reward design decisions are operationally executable.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support equity program design, compensation scenario planning, and executive pay decisions.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support executive hiring, offer construction, retention strategies, and leadership transition scenarios.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to People Partners, Finance, Legal, and senior business stakeholders on executive compensation and equity matters.
  • Translate complex compensation and equity data into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical audiences.
  • Support sensitive executive compensation conversations and provide analytical input into executive-level reward decisions.

Requirements

  • Significant experience working specifically in executive compensation and equity design, within a high-growth tech or complex multinational environment.
  • Direct experience with US and or UK corporate governance requirements and executive remuneration reporting.
  • Direct, hands-on experience working within a sophisticated, highly governed corporate environment, including exposure to institutional investor guidelines and Compensation Committee processes.
  • Proven experience supporting complex reward disclosures, executive compensation tables, and pay-versus-performance analysis.
  • Deep technical knowledge of executive pay program design, including long-term incentive (LTI) mechanics, annual incentive design, and equity program structures.
  • Strong benchmarking expertise using Radford or equivalent executive compensation surveys.
  • Experience designing or managing broad-based equity programs, including annual refresh cycles and equity target-setting.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen with advanced Excel and modeling capability.
  • Confident operating as a senior individual contributor, able to own complex workstreams independently and influence without direct authority.
  • Comfortable working at pace in an ambiguous, fast-evolving environment and building programs from scratch.
  • High attention to detail, strong governance mindset, and excellent stakeholder management skills.
