About the Role

Axiom, a global leader in on-demand legal talent, is seeking a compliance professional with expertise in the construction and development industry to support a client, a leading Australian property developer. This is a full-time, long-term role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with property, building, safety, and regulatory requirements, including the Building Code of Australia (BCA), state legislation, and local council regulations.
  • Coordinate and conduct routine property inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments, identifying and resolving non-compliance issues.
  • Manage essential services and maintenance compliance programs, including fire safety, electrical compliance, and WHS/OHS obligations.
  • Oversee the procurement, scheduling, performance, and compliance of external contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to minimize operational and regulatory risk.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance, facilities management, property management, building operations, or a related field within the real estate sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian building regulations, BCA/NCC requirements, WHS legislation, and state-specific compliance frameworks.
  • Experience managing audits, inspections, contractor performance, and regulatory reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
