About the Role

Humble Grape Canary Wharf is seeking a passionate and driven Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations, lead the team, and champion the company's standards for wine, food, and guest experience. This role offers a clear path for growth into senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the General Manager in running smooth, high-quality daily operations
  • Leading the floor during service and stepping up when it counts
  • Championing Humble Grape's standards for wine, food, and guest experience
  • Coaching and developing the team, setting the tone for culture and professionalism
  • Getting hands-on exposure to P&L, team scheduling, and site performance
  • Helping drive commercial results without compromising the guest experience
  • Being a consistent, trusted presence your team can rely on

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in a quality-focused venue
  • A natural leader who leads by example and brings out the best in people
  • Genuine passion for hospitality, wine, and creating memorable guest moments
  • Ambition, desire to grow, and readiness to put in the work
  • Strong operational awareness and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • An interest in wine (WSET qualifications are a bonus, but not essential)
  • Full right to work in the UK
