About the Role
In our HR team, you will take responsibility for your own areas of support and work closely with employees, managers, and project teams. You will combine operational HR work with strategic topics and actively shape the further development of our HR processes and structures. In our small team, you can expect a foundation of established processes, plenty of scope for creativity, and the opportunity to make a visible impact. From recruiting and personnel administration to digitalization and organizational projects, you will make an important contribution to ensuring that Falling Walls remains an attractive and future-oriented employer. We are looking for you to join our HR team on 08/01/2026 or as soon as possible (30 hours/week) to strengthen it with expertise, initiative, and enthusiasm for modern HR.
Responsibilities
- You will manage personnel for some of our project teams and their employees, including administration, onboarding & offboarding, preparatory payroll accounting, and issuing certificates and employment references.
- You will advise and support employees and managers in all personnel matters throughout the entire employee life cycle and be available for their HR topics.
- You will be responsible for recruiting for your area.
- You will manage your own small HR projects and participate in larger projects, such as those on working hours, digital payroll, employee retention, and talent and applicant management.
- You will document and optimize processes and create HR templates, such as standard and information texts, process diagrams, and contract templates.
Requirements
- You already have experience as an HR generalist and want to take on responsibility.
- You have at least 2-3 years of professional experience in HR and a completed degree or vocational training in an HR-relevant field (Human Resource Management, Law, HR Specialist).
- You have very good knowledge and experience in applying German labor law (TzBfG, ArbZG, SGB, BEEG, MuSchG, BUrlG, BGB, AGG) and are familiar with preparatory payroll accounting.
- You have experience with the HRIS Personio and generally have an affinity for digital tools.
- You enjoy proactive teamwork and actively shape your work area.
- You have the ability to empathize with others and good people skills.
- You possess excellent communication skills in German and English.
- Experience in an NGO, gGmbH, and/or the public sector is a plus.
- Knowledge in the area of occupational safety is a plus.
- Knowledge in the area of company reintegration management is a plus.
