About the Role
The U.S Market Business Development & Sales Manager will drive potential revenue growth by establishing relationships and obtaining distribution agreements with key suppliers, identifying business opportunities, managing customer relationships, executing sales strategies, and achieving sales goals for the Space and Defense sectors in the U.S. market.
Responsibilities
- Develop key supplier relationships and establish distribution agreements.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop strategic plans for revenue and booking growth in the Space and Defense sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with key Space and Defense application manufacturers and government agencies.
- Manage the sales funnel and CRM data, providing regular sales forecasts.
- Prepare RFQ proposals and secure orders to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Monitor competitor activities, industry trends, and new programs within the US Space and Defense markets.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, QA, and finance teams to align product capabilities with customer needs.
- Coordinate business trips, create agendas, minutes, and strategic action items.
- Report on business travel, sales forecasts, and weekly tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Space, Defense, or relevant manufacturing business development and sales.
- Familiarity with MIL-Spec is a plus.
- Experience with electronic component sales and business development.
- Electronic component engineering background is a plus.
- Strong experience in responding to government or commercial proposals in Space or Defense market is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
- Experience with ERP highly desired – Salesforce, Quantum a plus.
- Native in English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Above average mathematical skills.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Customary physical demands for office environment.
