About the Role
Michael Kors is seeking talented, globally-minded individuals with a passion for fashion to join our creative, fast-paced environment. This role reports to the CEO of Japan & Korea and is part of the Visual Merchandising department.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with domestic and international teams to enhance customer experience and drive sales.
- Conduct effective meetings with the merchandising team.
- Approve and create local guidelines based on product and buying strategies, adhering to global guidelines.
- Liaise with the Global VMD team in NY, participate in global calls, and lead the localization of seasonal windows for both full price and outlet channels.
- Manage store openings, renewals, events, and related logistics.
- Coach and develop VM department team members to support the company's vision.
- Oversee the VM Expert program, selecting and nurturing VM talent from sales associates.
- Manage the VM team's budget.
- Recruit and develop talent through succession planning and strong leadership.
- Continuously evaluate team and individual performance, providing consistent feedback.
- Propose and execute traffic-driving initiatives to US/NY using creative abilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of VMD experience in handbags, leather goods, or RTW brands (international or domestic).
- Advanced knowledge of visual merchandising and its role in customer experience.
- Teamwork, excellent communication, and leadership skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Creativity and proposal skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, and Word.
- Native-level Japanese language proficiency.
- Business-level English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).
