About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and systems-oriented Business Analyst to support the Commercial Data Enablement and Analytics organization in Japan for Abbott Structural Heart. This role will play a critical part in stabilizing, optimizing, and standardizing commercial data processes and reporting capabilities across Japan. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in Salesforce and Power BI with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable dashboards, reporting solutions, and data quality improvements. The primary focus is on systems enablement, data architecture, reporting consistency, and operational analytics. The role will serve as a key bridge between the Japan commercial organization and the global Commercial Data teams to ensure alignment with global standards while addressing Japan’s unique operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary business analyst and local subject matter expert for the Japan Salesforce ecosystem.
- Support user administration activities including user access, permissions, troubleshooting, and system support.
- Partner with global Commercial Data Enablement and Analytics and IT teams to align Japan processes with global Salesforce standards.
- Support system enhancements, user stories, testing activities (UAT), and deployment validation.
- Help reduce complexity within the Japan Salesforce instance by identifying inconsistent processes and non-standard configurations.
- Collaborate with global teams on long-term data optimization initiatives while ensuring continuity for local business-critical processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and Salesforce reports for commercial leadership and field teams.
- Standardize reporting outputs and KPIs to improve consistency and trust in business data.
- Create scalable reporting solutions to support management operating processes, sales performance tracking, and business reviews.
- Guide stakeholders toward effective use of existing dashboards.
- Support development of data quality and utilization dashboards to monitor completeness, adoption, and process compliance.
- Monitor data integrity across accounts, procedures, activities, and commercial processes.
- Analyze utilization of key Salesforce fields and recommend improvements to data capture practices.
- Partner with regional and global teams to improve data governance, standardization, and alignment.
- Support account alignment and franchise mapping activities to improve reporting accuracy and territory visibility.
- Ensure local changes are aligned with global governance processes to avoid future data fragmentation.
- Provide ad-hoc operational analytics and reporting support to Japan leadership.
- Support commercial initiatives including activities/events tracking, segmentation enablement, and operational KPI monitoring.
- Translate business requirements into technical reporting and data solutions.
- Help stakeholders understand reporting capabilities, data quality considerations, and system dependencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in business analytics, sales operations, commercial excellence, CRM systems, or related functions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM.
- Strong experience with Power BI, including dashboard creation and data visualization.
- Experience working with large datasets and data quality management.
- Fluent Japanese and strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed global organization.
- Experience within the medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
- Experience supporting commercial or sales organizations.
- Knowledge of CRM data models, reporting structures, and business intelligence tools.
- Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT), process improvement, and system optimization initiatives.
- Familiarity with data governance and master data management principles.
