About the Role

Cross Creek Hospital in Austin, TX is seeking a RN House Supervisor to join their nursing leadership team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of nursing operations, ensuring adequate staffing for patient care, and leading the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with a focus on patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day nursing operations of the facility.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to provide patient care.
  • Oversee the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and nursing practice standards.
  • Manage changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources accordingly.
  • Enforce and interpret policies for patient and resident care delivery.
  • Ensure proper staffing for each unit, considering patient care needs and covering absences.
  • Oversee completion of chart checks, seclusion/restraint logs, nursing assessments, and MARs.
  • Conduct shift start rounds and perform random audits.
  • Assist nursing leaders with staff orientation and competency.
  • Provide mentoring and training to staff.
  • Ensure facility compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes.
  • Coordinate patient care, including physician orders and diagnostic information.
  • Document medical, behavioral health information, and nursing care.
  • Administer medications and maintain records.
  • Assist in developing and updating patient plans of care.
  • Prioritize tasks and delegate staff to ensure quality patient care.
  • Serve as the leader on shift for admissions and discharges.
  • Inform physicians of changes in patient conditions.
  • Adjust staffing as needed.
  • Utilize administrator-on-call for escalated situations.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Perform other assigned functions and tasks.

Requirements

  • Current registered nursing license in the state where the facility is located.
  • 1 year of experience as an RN in any setting required.
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  • Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred.
  • Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • De-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
