About the Role

The Team Lead, Solutions Consulting role is a hands-on player-coach responsible for being the primary Solutions Consultant in opportunities, managing and hiring Solutions Consultants, and building out Braze’s financial services vertical in the Americas division. This role offers an opportunity to expand people management and leadership skills while partnering with Braze’s sales, marketing, security, and product teams. It requires experience in Pre-sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Customer Success, and a high level of curiosity about technology. You will serve as a mentor to Solutions Consultants on your team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 2 Solutions Consultants initially, with potential for team growth.
  • Coach direct reports through deal involvement, direct feedback, and career conversations.
  • Set high standards for technical and strategic performance, and customer interactions.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex deals.
  • Collaborate with Sales and SC leadership on hiring and capacity planning.
  • Perform end-to-end pre-sales activities for major accounts, including discovery, solution design, demos, POVs, security reviews, and executive presentations.
  • Build credibility with the Financial Services buying team across Architecture, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Marketing Ops, and C-suite.
  • Position BrazeAI and advanced capabilities to technically sophisticated buyers with regulatory complexity.
  • Engage Product, Security, Professional Services, and partners as needed to ensure successful deal closure.
  • Develop sales plays, discovery frameworks, and competitive positioning for the Financial Services segment.
  • Create reusable assets such as reference architectures, demo environments, security & compliance positioning, and objection-handling guides.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product to define growth strategies for the segment.
  • Publish thought leadership content, including white papers, presentations, and blog posts, to establish industry credibility.

Requirements

  • People management experience or a demonstrated track record of leading teams, mentoring ICs, and driving outcomes through others.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence and follow-through.
  • Strategic problem-solving abilities to break down ambiguous, cross-functional challenges.
  • Comfort operating autonomously and proactively, identifying and building necessary solutions.
  • Experience selling into enterprise accounts with sophisticated technical buying teams and rigorous evaluation processes, ideally in regulated industries.
  • Domain knowledge in two or more of the following: AI, SaaS, Mobile, APIs, Marketing Automation, Marketing Analytics, Data and Architecture, Security and Compliance, or Programming (including HTML).
  • Proven ability to be a collaborative teammate and a force multiplier.
