About the Role

This is a foundational role for a senior engineer in Authorium's new San Francisco office, focusing on high-bandwidth engineering and product innovation. You will be a primary driver of the technical integrity of the platform, setting the quality bar and shipping features for the company's next phase of expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and own complex infrastructure work, including internal developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, deployment abstractions, and foundational systems.
  • Make architectural decisions regarding reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
  • Lead the modularization of platform primitives and shared infrastructure.
  • Collaborate in-person with SF engineering leadership to design platform capabilities, resolve incidents, and translate pain points into infrastructure solutions.
  • Set the standard for platform reliability through code reviews, SLO definition, and improvements to observability, testing, and deployment safety.
  • Utilize AI tools like Cursor and Claude to automate infrastructure toil and define AI-first patterns for platform engineering.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
  • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, networking, and cloud architecture.
  • Proven track record designing and operating reliable, scalable infrastructure, including service meshes, internal tooling, and developer-facing APIs or abstractions.
  • Ability to identify platform gaps before they become incidents and partner with engineering teams to address them.
  • Deep understanding of security concerns, including secrets management, network policies, IAM models, and supply chain security.
  • History of high-quality infrastructure-as-code, runbooks, and a drive to build self-service systems.
  • San Francisco based and energized by an in-office collaborative culture (Monday-Thursday).
