About the Role

ICE is seeking Construction Inspectors at all levels to support TxDOT CEI projects throughout Texas, focusing on roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, traffic control, and transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor operations for compliance with TxDOT plans, specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and quantity documentation.
• Verify pay quantities and maintain project records.
• Inspect earthwork, flexible base, asphalt paving, concrete, structures, drainage, utilities, and traffic control.
• Review material certifications, test reports, and contractor submittits.
• Coordinate with TxDOT staff, contractors, and project teams.
• Identify and document deficiencies and non-conforming work.
• Utilize Document software such as: SiteManager, AWP, HCSS, FieldManager.
• Mentor junior inspectors and assist with project administration.

Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, near active traffic, on uneven terrain, and around heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• 1-5 years of experience for Inspector I.
• At least 1 year of roadway/bridge inspections for a government entity in the United States for Inspector I.
• TxDOT experience required for Inspector I.
• ACI Grade I certification required for Inspector I, II, and III.
• ACI Field Testing "Sampling” certification must be completed within 2 years of hire for Inspector I, 6 months for Inspector II and III.
• ACI Lab Testing "Strength" certification must be completed within 2 years of hire for Inspector I, 1 year for Inspector II and III.
• SB102 Certification must be completed within 2 years of hire for Inspector I, 6 months for Inspector II and III.
• HMAC Level 1B Roadway Specialist certification must be completed within 2 years of hire for Inspector I, 1 year for Inspector II and III.
• OSHA 10-Hour certification must be completed within 3 months of hire for Inspector I, II, and III.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification must be completed within 3 months of hire for Inspector I, II, and III.
• TxDOT ENV Matrix Training (10 classes) must be completed within 6 months of hire for Inspector I, II, and III.
• 5-10 years of roadway/bridge inspections for TXDOT for Inspector II.
• 10+ years of roadway/bridge inspections for TXDOT for Inspector III.
• Strong understanding of TxDOT specifications and documentation requirements for Inspector III.
• ATSSA TCS certification required for Inspector III.
• Nuclear Gauge Safety certification required for Inspector III.
• TXDOT – Certified to do Electrical Work.
• ATSSA Traffic Control Technician.
• ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor.
• Nuclear Gauge Safety Training.
• Bridge Construction Inspection Experience.
