About the Role

Procurement Specialist is responsible for indirect procurement, driving efficient and strategic sourcing activities. This role ensures optimal cost for goods and services through vendor selection, management, and evaluation, as well as contract negotiation, to achieve sourcing strategies that meet business needs. The role involves collaboration with multiple internal departments while adhering to global procurement policies, aiming to improve procurement processes and transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic sourcing, including category strategy development, cost reduction identification, RFP execution, and contract negotiation.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and establish a supplier evaluation process.
  • Manage procurement for vehicles (sales and event cars), domestic and international travel, mobile services, 3PL, and marketing-related categories.
  • Support efficient operations through expenditure analysis and KPI monitoring.
  • Manage the entire Procure-to-Pay process, including new vendor approval, budget management, and procurement performance reporting.
  • Ensure compliance throughout the Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Review and support the execution of contracts.
  • Manage procurement-related documents to minimize risk and enhance business reliability.

Requirements

  • Native level Japanese (or N1 with practical experience).
  • Business document reading level English (speaking ability is a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in Japan.
  • Negotiation experience is required.
  • Skills in stakeholder management, expenditure analysis, and RFP response.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
