About the Role

As an AV Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for training and certifying drivers who support autonomous vehicle operations on public roads and highways. You will ensure all drivers meet Applied Intuition's safety standards, demonstrating exemplary safe driving practices and translating complex protocols into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement driver training programs covering safety protocols, road procedures, and AV-specific operational guidelines.
  • Conduct pre-drive certifications for new drivers and regular re-evaluations to maintain standards.
  • Provide in-car coaching and real-time feedback to drivers during training sessions.
  • Identify knowledge and skill gaps within the driver team and develop training materials for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Fleet Specialists and Operations teams to update training programs based on evolving operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all driver training, certifications, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Serve as the on-site safety representative during test operations, ensuring protocol adherence and escalating issues as needed.
  • Support off-site testing operations, involving approximately 25% travel annually.

Requirements

  • A clean driving record with over 5 years of accident-free and violation-free driving history.
  • Practical experience in training and certifying drivers in a professional setting.
  • A safety-first mindset with a proven track record of enforcing and exemplifying safe driving behaviors.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey protocols and procedures.
  • Basic English proficiency to read operational documents and communicate with international team members (translation tools may be used).
