About the Role
The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet operations, ensuring smooth execution of events and exceptional member and guest experience. This role involves managing the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions while maintaining Invited service standards.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, develop, and performance manage banquet service personnel.
- Implement and facilitate training programs to maintain well-trained staff.
- Communicate with the Event Sales Director during event preparation to ensure proper staffing and seamless execution of private functions.
- Review banquet event orders (BEO’s) and daily logs to understand function details, ensuring room setups correspond with function sheets.
- Oversee the timely service of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to Invited standards of service and quality.
- Monitor events to ensure food is served on time, communicate with the event host postevent to confirm their satisfaction, and collect payment.
- Manage room breakdown and setup based on event details.
- Execute opening procedures for the banquet department and ensure the room is prepared according to event standards.
- Record relevant information in the MOD log for the next shift.
- Provide a warm welcome by greeting members and guests by name and ensuring their needs are met throughout the event.
- Ensure all side work is completed, including maintaining clean and organized work areas, refilling and stocking containers and supplies, and ensuring sanitary conditions.
- Interact professionally with members and guests, accommodating changes and last-minute requests as needed.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
- Assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Represent the company's management team by supporting and enforcing policies.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence.
- Promote and follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
- Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources.
- Support the overall efficiency of the team by collaborating and contributing to the club’s goals.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the restaurant, banquet, or club-related field within the food & beverage industry.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
- Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required.
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity.
