About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated Legal Assistant to join the dedicated Abuse Law team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will play a key role in supporting a diverse and meaningful caseload of Abuse Law matters, contributing to Maurice Blackburn's long history of advocating for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with clients (both internal and external)
  • Preparing, filing and serving of court documents and briefs
  • Copying, filing and preparing client and third-party correspondence
  • File and diary management
  • Opening and sorting of all incoming mail
  • Preparing bills for clients
  • Answering and managing all incoming inquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate
  • Opening new matters

Requirements

  • Experience in a Legal Assistant or high-level Administration position
  • Knowledge of/or experience in an industry associated with personal injuries will be advantageous
  • High attention to detail with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Agility and openness to change including the use of AI and new Legal Services Platform
  • Strong ability to prioritise, cope with a fast-changing environment and possess excellent organisational skills
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo background checks
