About the Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated Legal Assistant to join the dedicated Abuse Law team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will play a key role in supporting a diverse and meaningful caseload of Abuse Law matters, contributing to Maurice Blackburn's long history of advocating for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with clients (both internal and external)
- Preparing, filing and serving of court documents and briefs
- Copying, filing and preparing client and third-party correspondence
- File and diary management
- Opening and sorting of all incoming mail
- Preparing bills for clients
- Answering and managing all incoming inquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate
- Opening new matters
Requirements
- Experience in a Legal Assistant or high-level Administration position
- Knowledge of/or experience in an industry associated with personal injuries will be advantageous
- High attention to detail with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Agility and openness to change including the use of AI and new Legal Services Platform
- Strong ability to prioritise, cope with a fast-changing environment and possess excellent organisational skills
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo background checks
