About the Role
Assume full responsibility for design and specification while collaborating with sales teams on client projects. Services include programming, design concepts, space planning, commercial furniture specifications, millwork site visits, and installation drawings to ensure a positive client experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage design and specification processes and project teams
- Lead or assist in client presentations
- Ensure accuracy of all drawings and specifications
- Provide expert knowledge in design trends and product application
- Lead consultative selling efforts
- Prepare and present design contracts
- Mentor and coach design team members
- Create expert-level renderings and presentations
- Assist with management duties including workload delegation and KPI tracking
- Conduct client programming interviews and produce reports
- Perform site reviews, field measurements, and plan-to-site adherence checks
- Develop and present block/space plans and color/finish boards
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and timesheets
- Develop and verify order-ready product specifications
- Maintain detailed project documentation and records of key decisions
- Create finished working drawings for installation
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior, Industrial, or Architectural Design
- 6+ years of experience in furniture, office, or space planning
- Knowledge of building codes for furniture design
- Excellent time management and delegation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to understand and apply new product knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
