About the Role
As Principal of Public Affairs, you will play a critical role in supporting client relationships, ensuring they get the expertise, strategy, and execution needed to drive impactful campaigns. This role is for a self-starter with a foundational background in public affairs and client management who wants to solve big problems and deliver smart, strategic counsel to clients in high-stakes arenas.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior and executive leadership to develop and execute winning campaign strategies.
- Support the teams working on New Jersey-based clients, ensuring their priorities and goals are met and exceeded.
- Build relationships that last, ensuring clients see you as a key contributor to their overall success.
- Prioritize crisis and proactive communications, managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Spot opportunities by monitoring and analyzing industry trends.
- Identify ways to expand client engagements and upsell contracts.
- Actively develop proposals, presentations and reports to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and accountability.
- Refine and optimize internal workflows to drive impact.
- Set high standards and elevate the firm’s standards for execution, innovation, and results.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in client management, public affairs, communications, government, or a related field.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- A strategic mindset and a tactical edge.
- Knowledge of New Jersey’s political, corporate, and nonprofit landscape.
