About the Role

Join our Risk Engineering Data Team as a Senior Engineer to make significant business impacts and grow your career. This role involves building big data technology, platforms, systems, and tools to clean, process, enrich, and optimize core company data, enabling customers and internal teams to generate value. We leverage modern big data and AI technologies, employing agile development and a product operating model to solve challenging problems with huge business impact potential.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to understand customer business needs and challenges.
  • Design, code, test, deploy, and monitor sophisticated processes in a cloud-based architecture.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, including provisioning and managing cloud-based data infrastructure.
  • Perform software development with TDD and BDD, Microservice and event-oriented architectures.
  • Analyze data, existing systems, and processes independently to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Mentor and learn from peers, fostering continuous learning of new technology within the team and organization.
  • Assist in interviews and provide quality and timely feedback.
  • Apply team processes and best practices to tasks with support from peers and management.
  • Proactively understand customer/business problems and ensure designs and implementations solve them effectively, reliably, and sustainably.
  • Partner with, assist, or lead team members in development and problem-solving.
  • Take strong ownership/accountability, be proactive, and lead.
  • Lead a scrum team with proper agile development practices, ensuring high-quality and timely development and delivery.
  • Own medium to large complex components or systems/products/platforms.
  • Participate and lead technical discussions.
  • Design and build high-quality and efficient systems with craftsmanship.
  • Independently and productively complete work of medium/large complexity, seeking senior engineer reviews for quality assurance.
  • Proactively identify and communicate dependencies.
  • Review peer work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Build reliable, secure, high-quality, efficient, and easy-to-use big data platforms and tools at scale.
  • Build systems, platforms, data pipelines, and tools for the E-2-E data life cycle.
  • Build data quality measurement & monitoring techniques and systems, metadata and data catalog, Master Data Management.
  • Become a subject matter expert in functional areas and best practices.
  • Assess unique circumstances and apply creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Use data and/or AI technology or tools in solutions for effective business outcomes and better customer experience.
  • Analyze data to understand risk problems and build effective solutions.
  • Learn and explore new technology and innovative approaches to improve effectiveness and productivity.
  • Bring learnings to the team to foster collective growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, OR demonstrable equivalent deep understanding, experience, and capability.
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering at a large scale.
  • Master or PhD degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Continuous growth and upskilling mindset.
  • Rich experience in designing high-quality, performant, and efficient solutions for medium/large complex problems.
  • Rich experience and good understanding of CI/CD automation.
  • Experienced in combined engineering practices and agile development.
  • Rich experience and strong implementation skills using languages like Java, C#, or Golang including coding, automated testing, measurement and monitoring.
  • Experienced in TDD approach.
  • Good understanding of data processing techniques, such as data pipeline/platform development, SQL, as well as relational, NoSQL, and data warehousing technologies.
  • Experienced in cloud technology, such as AWS, Azure, GCP as well as deployment topologies to ensure high availability and low latency processing.
  • Passionate about understanding and solving customer/business problems.
