About the Role

The BWC & Occ Health Coordinator manages workers' compensation cases and occupational health services, ensuring BWC compliance, facilitating treatment and return-to-work, and serving as a liaison between various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Flu Shot clinics.
  • Perform and coordinate respiratory fit testing.
  • Coordinate care for injured workers from initial injury through claim resolution.
  • Monitor and track workers' compensation claims for timely follow-up and documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employers, injured workers, managed care organizations (MCOs), and BWC representatives.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and ensure adherence to medical treatment plans.
  • Facilitate communication between providers and employers regarding work restrictions and return-to-work status.
  • Assist providers with completing required BWC forms and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employer clients.
  • Educate employers on workers' compensation processes, injury management, and Occ Health services.
  • Respond promptly to employer inquiries regarding claim status, work restrictions, drug screen results, and employee care plans.
  • Coordinate employer services including pre-employment physicals, drug screens, DOT physicals, and injury treatment services.
  • Schedule Police & Fire Physicals.
  • Perform Systoc entry, coding, and billing.
  • Ensure compliance with BWC, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic policies.
  • Maintain accurate patient and claim records in the EMR.
  • Track deadlines for MEDCO-14s, C-9s, FROI submissions, and other required documentation.
  • Audit documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with occupational health program development and process improvement.
  • Coordinate scheduling and administrative support for occupational health services.
  • Participate in employer outreach and business development activities.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • BLS Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • One (1) year of Occupational Health experience preferred.

Experience Level

  • 1 year of Occupational Health experience preferred

Education Level

  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant preferred
  • BLS Certification
