About the Role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless, end-to-end consultative design service, building lasting relationships and brand loyalty by helping customers realize their project goals within their personal style and budget.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support walk-in design needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and store leads
• Provide expert advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple simultaneous customer projects with high accuracy and consistent follow-up
• Use company communication tools and email consistently
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Support company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices
• Stay current with emerging design trends
• Utilize design applications including Salesforce, the Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of interior design or retail/sales experience
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position
• Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects
• Ability to handle, feel, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Limited travel may be required by car
