About the Role
We are looking for a Designer to concept and design brand campaigns in partnership with other creatives across various disciplines. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, collaborative, and possesses a refined design sensibility with an ability to execute compelling visual work for unique brands. This role is based in our New York office and operates on a hybrid model.
Responsibilities
- Develop branding for campaigns ranging in scope from one-off logo design to project-specific assets to full brand.
- Deliver all graphic design components on assigned projects, including the conception of unique graphic systems/identities for campaigns, the development of graphic assets within those systems, and the technical execution of those graphics for a final deliverable in collaboration with project production teams.
- Serve as a custodian of both the Giant Spoon brand and all our clients’ brands, ensuring the correct, most up to date logos/style guides/toolkits are in use to maintain consistency across visual design assets.
- Partner with Art Directors to translate campaign ideas into a visual language that supports our clients’ mission and brand identity, and can be replicated and scaled.
- Create and curate creative decks/presentations, crafting memorable, storytelling visuals to support new business pitch opportunities as needed.
- Effectively share and present work internally to creative leadership and has a strong point of view; is not afraid to push the envelope or propose alt approaches.
- Develop mood boards/inspiration boards to communicate design intent to internal and external partners.
- Recommend new visual formats and tools to leverage in client presentations.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working cross-medium, changing your technical and conceptual approach based on whether graphics are for print or digital, at large-scale or designed for social etc.
- Create detailed print files and print mechanicals for efficient vendor communication.
- Proactively manage priorities and adhere to tight timelines.
Requirements
- 2+ years of design experience in a fast-paced creative environment.
- Advertising agency experience and experience working closely with creative teams to bring ideas to life highly preferred.
- An innate understanding of design systems and an ability to adhere to and iterate from them.
- Experience designing for traditional digital platforms as well as web, social and experiential.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (bonus points for motion design, illustration and/or prototyping abilities).
- Typography, color and design sensibilities that support a thoughtful, strategic approach.
- Familiarity with website architecture and HTML programming as it relates to design.
- Ability to flex design style and approach based on different client/project needs.
- Ability to articulate and present work and ideas in an engaging way.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and be resourceful, flexible and quick to adapt in a fast-paced environment while tracking all details.
- Ability to collaborate creatively across departments and offices and foster trusting relationships with teammates.
- Open to receiving and providing thoughtful feedback.
