About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Communications to lead business-side PR and communications, focusing on corporate partnerships, marketing, ticketing, community impact, and executive visibility. This role involves collaborating with internal leaders and teams to develop strategies, craft messaging, and execute communications plans aligned with Bay FC's business objectives. The ideal candidate possesses strong media instincts, excellent judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively across various platforms, shaping Bay FC's public image in business, culture, and community spheres.
Responsibilities
- Build and drive Bay FC's business communications strategy, encompassing corporate partnerships, community impact, ticketing, brand campaigns, and major organizational moments.
- Identify compelling storylines, cultivate media relationships, and secure earned media coverage with business, lifestyle, and culture journalists.
- Write press releases, executive speeches, internal updates, owner briefings, and talking points.
- Support executive thought leadership and visibility through LinkedIn content, panel preparation, presentations, and public remarks.
- Act as a liaison between Communications, Marketing, and Social teams to amplify stories across all channels.
- Partner with HR and leadership on internal communications, including All-Hands meetings, organizational updates, and employee emails.
- Monitor media coverage and stay informed about trends in women's sports, the Bay Area market, and the broader business landscape.
- Assist with crisis communications and issues management.
Requirements
- 7+ years in PR, corporate communications, or media relations.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and brand voice.
- Proven ability to develop storylines, pitch reporters, and earn media coverage.
- Experience with executive communications, strategic planning, and crisis management.
- Collaborative, proactive self-starter adept at thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Genuine passion for women's sports and the Bay FC mission.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during significant events.
