About the Role
The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is seeking a Temporary Part-time Membership Sales Representative to join their Visitor Services team. This role involves promoting and selling membership benefits, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service to new, renewing, and lapsed members.
Responsibilities
- Solicit membership renewals, upgrades, and donations at the Membership Services Desk, Kiosks, or Satellite Desks.
- Complete opening and closing procedures accurately.
- Collaborate with Front of House staff and volunteers to promote, sell, and close Membership transactions.
- Respond to member inquiries in person and process payments.
- Ensure proper coding and data entry for all Membership sales for reporting accuracy.
- Greet Members and visitors, promote membership sales, and provide detailed information about the Gallery.
- Enter admission information into the computer and issue tickets.
- Maintain accuracy of the membership database, inputting and updating applications, address changes, and verifying accounts.
- Investigate errors and discrepancies in database reports and take corrective action.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience with membership sales and customer service.
- Well-developed knowledge of membership practices.
- Well-developed sales ability and initiative.
- Understanding of and commitment to superior client servicing.
- Well-developed computer proficiency, data entry, and keyboarding skills.
- Experience with applicable computer programs such as Tessitura or other fundraising software.
- Knowledge of POS, Windows, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Three years of demonstrated cash handling, credit card processing, balancing, making change, and creating deposits.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed public relations, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
