About the Role

The Manufacturing Technician III, Instruments will be responsible for the assembly and integration of mechanical, fluidic, electronic, optical, and electro-mechanical systems. This role delivers manufacturing requirements against production or project schedules within a focused manufacturing operation, including system integration testing and troubleshooting to support quality manufacturing production. Product knowledge, documentation transfer, training, and inter-departmental communication are also essential.

Responsibilities

Stages material for production as needed.
Coordinates with other technicians daily in support of integration testing, manual instruction development, and production process development.
Performs hands-on assembly, test, and troubleshooting of system builds and re-work.
Works from documented procedures and maintains quality data.
Delivers manufacturing requirements and attainment of production schedule.
Coordinates process and manual instruction updates.
Shares knowledge and trains co-workers and new employees.
Establishes an effective working partnership with other Luminex departments to promote effective communication and transfer knowledge/experience.
Participates in applicable departmental and interdepartmental training.
Maintains current and effective training to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and applicable changes affecting Reagent Manufacturing.
Maintains cleanliness and integrity of manufacturing and storage areas.
Performs timely and accurate inventory cycle counts and transactions in Oracle.
Maintains production builds as needed.
Utilizes developed writing skills for process updates, including SOP creation.
Understands change control process and implements necessary changes.
Understands system configuration management and material procurement as a final finished good product.
Maintains personal compliance and facilitates departmental compliance with the Quality System.
Adheres to safety, disposal, and gowning requirements.
Tests and troubleshoots systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

3+ Years Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment specific to troubleshooting and problem resolution practices.
Product knowledge, documentation transfer, training and inter-departmental communication required.
Performing assigned tasks that utilize interdisciplinary skills to perform integration troubleshooting and assigned service tasks.
Specific product build knowledge for 40 to 60% of all assemblies currently produced in manufacturing.
