About the Role

The Manufacturing Technician II, Instruments will be responsible for the assembly and integration of mechanical, fluidic, electronic, optical, and electro-mechanical systems. This role delivers manufacturing requirements against production or project schedules within a focused manufacturing operation, potentially including alternate shifts. The position involves system integration testing and troubleshooting to support quality manufacturing production, maintaining product knowledge, documentation transfer, training, inter-departmental communication, and performing assigned tasks that utilize interdisciplinary skills for integration troubleshooting and field service.

Responsibilities

Stages material for production as needed.
Coordinates with other technicians daily in support of integration testing, manual instruction development, and production process development.
Performs hands-on assembly, test, and troubleshooting of system builds and re-work.
Becomes proficient at building subassemblies currently produced in manufacturing.
Works from documented procedures and maintains quality data.
Delivers manufacturing requirements and attainment of production schedule.
Coordinates process and manual instruction updates.
Shares knowledge and trains co-workers and new employees.
Establishes an effective working partnership with other Luminex departments to promote effective communication and transfer knowledge/experience.
Participates in applicable departmental and interdepartmental training.
Maintains current and effective training to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and applicable changes affecting Reagent Manufacturing.
Maintains cleanliness and integrity of manufacturing and storage areas.
Performs timely and accurate inventory cycle counts.
Performs timely and accurate inventory-based transactions in Oracle.
Maintains personal compliance and facilitates departmental compliance with the Quality System.
Adheres to safety, disposal, and gowning requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Two years experience working in a manufacturing environment specific to troubleshooting and problem resolution practices.
Experience in Soldering.
Experience working with GMP.
